Customer Service & Mechanical/Process Engineer (EEO/M/F/D/V)

Sprimag Inc. (North America) is the premier equipment supplier for custom coating systems, surface coating applications, and internal coating equipment. We are the leading provider of custom painting systems for the automotive, aerospace, medical, manufacturing, and consumer products industries.

Due to high growth, we are currently looking to add an experienced, motivated Customer Service & Mechanical/Process Engineer to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist & Support new service and spare parts business via customer visits and technical sales presentations.
  • Quick response to service calls with troubleshooting/problem solving techniques.
  • Audits, painting quality control consulting, and process improvements recommendation on existing automated paint systems.
  • Recommend maintenance procedures and training of operating personnel.
  • Developing, estimating, and writing proposals for machine service, installation, and retrofits.
  • Installation supervision and hand-on assistance in the construction of new machines.
  • Set-up of process parameters and testing of new equipment during start-up.
  • Project management skills with contractors and vendors.
  • Evaluation and approval of 3rd party equipment suppliers.
  • Mechanical design aptitude to initiate innovations of new paint application projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Maintaining manuals.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers.
  • Mechanical design aptitude to provide feedback on future product development, features and functions.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on service and painting background in the Paint Finishing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of spray guns, pumping systems, fluid controls, and pneumatic controls.
  • Experience in robotic and automatic spray-painting applications, including robot setup and programming.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drive systems, servos, and actuators.
  • Associates in mechatronics, electro-mechanical, maintenance degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years self-motivated technical service experience.
  • Willingness for domestic and international travel up to 30%.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works is a plus.
