Sprimag Inc. (North America) is the premier equipment supplier for custom coating systems, surface coating applications, and internal coating equipment. We are the leading provider of custom painting systems for the automotive, aerospace, medical, manufacturing and consumer products industries.
Due to high growth, we are currently looking to add an experienced, innovative Electrical Engineer to our engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- PLC Programming: Design, develop, and implement PLC programs to control automated coating systems. Ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Design of New Systems: Take a leading role in the electrical schematic design phase of new automated coating systems. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure system integration and performance meet client requirements.
- In-Field Installation Supervision: Lead electrical contractors to successful, on-time delivery of equipment.
- In-Field Startup: Participate in the on-site startup of automated coating systems, ensuring proper functionality and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Travel: Be prepared for travel up to 30% per year to various customer locations for system installations, startups, and service calls.
- Service Calls: Respond to service calls promptly, diagnose and address technical issues, and provide solutions to ensure minimal downtime for clients.
- Retrofits: Oversee and implement retrofit projects, upgrading existing systems with new technologies and improvements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of programming industrial control systems, including PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and servo drives.
- Or ASEE or equivalent degree and minimum of 5-10 years of similar experiences.
- Familiarity with vision systems and their integration into industrial automation processes.
- Proficient with MS Office, and AutoCAD Electrical/E-Plan.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal teams.
- Willingness for domestic and international travel up to 30%.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in Fanuc and Yaskawa robot programming is a plus.
- Industry 4.0 experience is a plus.
- German language a plus.
